Disability Support Worker – Rockhampton

Are you are looking for a diverse role that is meaningful?

We are looking for skilled Disability Support Workers to work in a range of community settings within our Rockhampton region. Whether you are an early riser, night owl or somewhere in between, Healthcare Australia is looking for compassionate Carers to support disability community clients across the Rockhampton region.

  • This is a casual role, to start as soon as possible.
  • Minimum shift engagement is 3 hours, with shifts typically between 3-8 hours in length.
  • You will work in disability residential environments – SIL houses and within the community.
  • You will assist and support with personal care, daily activities and social support engagement activities.
  • Documentation and Reporting – maintain accurate records of participants progress and care plans.

  • Great Pay: $43–$101/hr + super + insurance + rewards.
  • Choose Your Shifts: AM, PM, or Night Duty (active and sleepovers) – flexibility is yours.

  • Weekly pay and the option to get paid within 24 hours after your shift!

Essential requirements:  

  • Minimum of 6-months (FTE) experience in supporting clients with physical/intellectual disabilities.
  • Experience working with clients who have high-intensity and complex behaviours.
  • Possess a valid Police Check (valid within the last 3 years).
  • Available to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week: which could include day, afternoon and night shifts (sleepovers or active awakes).
  • Must have experience in supporting people with medication.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Current WWCC (Blue Card)/ Disability Workers Screening (Yellow Card) and NDIS Screening.
  • Unrestricted valid Australian drivers license*
  • Comprehensively Insured vehicle that can be used to transport participants for community access* 

* Many NDIS participants and clients in the community have difficulties accessing public transport, therefore, staff may be required to utilise their own vehicle or, if available, a company vehicle to transport, which requires staff to hold a suitable AU drivers licence and insurance.
