Registered Midwife

Seeking AHPRA Registered Midwives – 482 Sponsorship support and pathway to 186 after 12 months of service

Maternity Services is responsible for the safe contemporary care of patients within the Hospital. They are pivotal within the functioning of the hospital and as such contribute to the hospital achieving consistently, its missions & values

    As a Registered Midwife you will provide and co-ordinates women-centred care during labour in the delivery suite birth and the post-birth period.This may involve assessment, development of a plan, provision of care and
    evaluation of outcomes.

    Delivery Suite:

  • Assists doctor/consultant during labour and birthing in the delivery suite
  • May be required for triage, fetal monitoring, initial neonatal care, neonatal resuscitation, emergencies and suturing.

    Clinical Activity

  • Provide consistently high standard of clinical care within the scope of a Registered Midwife and in accordance with contemporary care guidelines& Hospital care protocols and patient pathways
  • Undertakes clinical assessment, interventions, evaluation and monitoring of patients and at all times maintains ongoing communication with the midwifery and medical team, about the outcome of care
  • Collaborates with members of the health care team to achieve effective patient health care outcomes
  • Contributes to the formulation of care plans in collaboration with the midwifery and medical team, patient and family
  • Recognises and reports changes in the health and functional status of patients to the midwifery and medical team Continuously monitors patient satisfaction and takes appropriate action to support the patient experience
  • Respond to patient and family enquiries
  • Develop effective therapeutic relationships with the patient and family
  • Document patient information in a clinically effective manner that conforms to Hospital requirements

Sign-On Incentives:

  • $12,000 for positions of 0.74 FTE or higher (59.2 hours per fortnight)
  • $8,000 for 0.53 FTE or 0.63 FTE roles (42.4 or 50.4 hours per fortnight)

Relocation Reimbursement:

  • $6,000 for interstate candidates – excluding candidates requiring sponsorship
  • $8,000 for international candidates- excluding candidates requiring sponsorship

Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in midwifery
  • AHPRA registration as Midwife
  • Victoria Working With Children check
