We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) care and Mental Health Nursing to join our Virtual Care Centre (VCC). This newly established hybrid role focuses on AOD triage as the primary responsibility, while also supporting mental health assessments and VCC operational tasks.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, person-centred care to clients in need of AOD and mental health support, both virtually and on-site. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-enabled environment and enjoys providing compassionate care and triage services.

You’ll enjoy a steady Monday to Friday schedule, working 9am to 5pm – no weekends!

AOD Triage and Clinical Care

  • Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments and triage, identifying urgency and appropriate interventions.
  • Develop care plans tailored to individual client needs, including referrals to internal and external services.
  • Provide education, health promotion, and support for clients managing addiction.
  • Administer medications and manage clinical documentation to ensure compliance with standards.

Mental Health Support

  • Assist with virtual mental health intake and triage, offering support and referral to mental health services as required.
  • Provide psychoeducation, coping strategies, and crisis intervention where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Mental Health Team Leader and multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.

Virtual Care Centre Operations

  • Support VCC tasks, including monitoring client progress, updating electronic health records, and contributing to reporting.
  • Participate in case conferences and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to optimise client outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of clinical processes, policies, and service delivery.

Lets talk about you!

You must hold current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) at a Grade 5 level, with post-graduate qualifications in both Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD). Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience in AOD and/or mental health nursing, with strong skills in virtual care delivery, triage, risk assessment, and collaborative multidisciplinary practice.
